All tequila starts in Mexico with the native Blue Weber Agave plant. Much like Champagne can only be produced in that region in France, Tequila can only be made in certain parts of Mexico, with Jalisco being by far the biggest - which is where our tequila comes from at Casa Maestri, the most awarded Tequila Family in the World. Agave are like super big pineapples, growing out of the earth with long spikey leaves. Unlike grapes or hops which are harvested annually, agave has a 7 to 10 year growth cycle, so there is a lot of love and nurturing involved!
